About me
I’ve lived and worked in Greenslopes for over 20 years, raising my three awesome kids. I’m a financial educator, helping startups and women in business improve their financial literacy and a former small business owner.
I volunteer across numerous community groups supporting the fundraising efforts of charities and local P&Cs. After 15 years of service on our local state school’s P&C, they made me a life member. In these roles, I’ve spent time with hundreds of local families, heard their concerns, and developed a keen understanding of the lack of support everyday people face in the healthcare and education systems.
My personal background
I grew up on our family farm, it's now an open cut coal mine. I’ve been a disability advocate since the age of five, when my sister lost her hearing and needed a loud voice to fight for her rights.
I’ve struggled to access a chronically underfunded mental health system to support my children. It’s clear to me Labor and the LNP have been letting big corporations rip us off for years and massively underfund the basic services that everyday people need.
It's time for change
Right now, people are losing faith in a political system focused on putting the interests of big corporations and property investors ahead of the rest of us.
But there’s hope.
When we harness the collective power of everyday people, we can transform politics. We can have high quality and genuinely free education and healthcare. We can afford to invest in crucial public infrastructure like public transport, renewable energy and genuinely affordable housing.
