Did you know?
Over the last 10 years Queensland mining corporations have exported $644 billion worth of resources, but only paid 9% in royalties. Even Labor’s new coal royalties plan will stop collecting any significant extra revenue within a few months.
Big gas companies are even worse, they’ve only paid 4% in royalties on $120 billion in exports. Mining corporations are only interested in squeezing as much profit from Queensland’s resources as possible. Every year, Labor and the LNP take millions in corporate donors from their mining mates. Of course they’re not going to go after big mining corporations and stand up for regular Queenslanders
The Greens have a plan
When the Greens are in a position of power, we fight back against big corporations, so the best way to tax them fairly is to vote Green.
Freeze rents and cap increases
Stand up for renters by freezing and capping rent increases. Help young people into a home by building 100,000 well-designed public homes.
Stop new coal and gas mines
It’s time to transition away from fossil fuels. Cut power bills with 100% publicly owned renewable energy and invest in a clean manufacturing boom.
Stop supermarket price gouging
The cost of everyday essentials are skyrocketing while Coles and Woolies are making billions. The Greens will break up the duopoly and stop corporate price gouging.
Fund universally free healthcare
The Greens will invest in genuinely free healthcare, clear the elective surgery wait list and invest in free GP clinics so you can see the doctor for free.
Fee-free and fully funded public education
Let’s close the funding gap and ease the burden on Queensland families by covering all public school costs including fees, excursions and computers.
Tax developers and big corporations
We can pay for all of this if we make big corporations pay their fair share, by properly taxing coal and gas, property developers and big banks.
